Have you ever planned a Barbeque (BBQ) party and thought the forecast was going to be beautiful weather, but it turned out to be cold weather? If yes, we are here to tell you that you will never have to cancel another BBQ Party just because cold weather comes your way. We have some grilling tips to get you through those cold weather days! Read for useful grilling tips.
Pick A Good Spot For Cold Weather Grilling
When grilling in cold weather, you want to always place your grill in an area protected from the wind. Great areas to place your grill are close to your house where windy does not hit and the corner of your back porch.
If you are grilling on your porch, make sure it is not an enclosed porch because your house could catch on fire or your health could suffer from the fumes.
Use Extra Fuel For Cold Weather Outdoor Cooking
When the weather is cold, the heat of your grill can be greatly impacted. Use ceramic cookware to insulate your food to keep the food at appropriate temperatures.
Whatever amount of fuel you would use for summer grilling, use about ½ more than that for cold weather grilling. If your gas is low during cold weather, you will be able to tell because you will see a thin coat of ice marking the gas level.
Warm Up Your Grill In Advance
When it is cold, it will take your grill more time to warm up. Remember food sticks on cold grates. You will not get a sear if your grates are not hot.
For the best grilling results, put down the lid on your grill with the vents open. Have the fire going and allow the grill to get hot. You should preheat your grill for 15 to 20 minutes prior to grilling.
